Kasapreko, the Ghanaian company that brought us the very popular Alomo bitters has launched two new tastes, Kalahari bitters and Carnival strawberry.
The launch was on Friday, the 26th of June, at an event at Club Escape in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Personalities and dignitaries from the entertainment industry graced the occasion. Among them were Ruggedman, Chuddy K, Weird MC, Rayce, Stunna Gee, JJC Skillz, Mbryo, Bond (Phyno’s manager), Destiny (Olu Maintain’s manager), N6 (OAP Cool FM), Femi TeeHigh, Olisa Adibua.
Also in attendance were representatives from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and Consumer Protection Council (CPC).
Before the launch in Nigeria, both flavours had already being making waves in Ghana.
Kasapreko introduced Kalahari Bitters, a fine blend of extracts of herbs and aromatic spices with a bitter-sweet taste, ideal for the Nigerian consumer who has a distinctive and sophisticated palate; and also Carnival Strawberry, a liquor that combines strawberry flavor and fine spirits to give the alluring experiences when enjoyed neat or mixed.
Carnival Strawberry is another world class blend suitable for contemporary Nigerian woman in search of a signature drink.
Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director of Kasapreko Company Nigeria Limited, Kojo Nunoo pointed out that both new brands were the outcome of painstaking research and development work in the company’s labs in Ghana.
“We called these products ‘two can play’ because when they are mixed together, they make a perfect combination. We believe that Nigerian consumers will find them really attractive. The bitter is good for enhancement of manpower, while the liquor is just adequate and not over the top.
“These products have done really well in Ghana and are more than certain to do better in Nigeria because they are the big brothers of Ghana. The Nigerian market is very sophisticated and that was why we decided to create the right atmosphere and ambience to launch it,” Nunoo said.
On his part, the Marketing Manager, Peter Adegor said that Kalahari and Carnival are being brought to Nigeria to fill identified gaps in the spirit market. “The brands are targeted at the Nigerian population who are more sophisticated, discerning and desirous of standing out from the crowd.”
