NBC marks World Environment Day with commitment to a pollution-free environment

The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC), the Nigerian subsidiary of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC) AG has reaffirmed its commitment towards a safe, clean and pollution-free environment. This was as the company led members of its staff and representatives from Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) in a beach clean-up activity which was held to observe the 2019 World Environment Day.

CCBA to acquire stakes in Kenya’s Coca-Cola franchises

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is set to acquire stakes in two of Kenya’s Coca-Cola franchises. Centum Investments, a quasi-Kenya Government agency announced on Wednesday it has agreed to sell its 53.9% and 27.6% stakes held in Almasi Beverages Limited and Nairobi Bottlers Limited to Coca-Cola Sabco East Africa, the South African co-owner of CCBA at a cost of 19.5bn Kenyan shillings ($192.5m).

International Breweries felicitates with Ogun State at inaugural

International Breweries Plc (“IB Plc”), the Nigerian unit of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has commended Ogun State Government for its friendly policies that has fostered the growth of business.

The commendation came during the inauguration ceremony of the new Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta. The company’s Legal and Corporate Affairs Director, Otunba Michael Daramola,  said that through favourable government policies, the company was able to build a state-of-the-art brewery, which began operation in 2018. He expressed hope that the new administration will sustain and improve on the favorable policies of the previous government.

Coca-Cola rolls-out Costa Coffee RTD

Coca-Cola has announced the launch of its much awaited Costa Coffee RTD as the soda giant forges ahead with further broadening of its portfolio.

The company best known for its trademark Cola said that the new offerings will come in variants of Classic Latte, Caramel Latte, and Black Americano.

Zuru Emirate head calls on government to find other methods to attract investments in food processing to reduce wastage

The Emir of Zuru, a local government area in Kebbi State in North West Nigeria, Major General Muhammad Sani Sami (Rtd.) has appealed to the Federal and State Government to device other means of attracting investments in food processing so as to reduce spoilage of crops being experienced by farmers in the country.

Sami made the appeal at the closing ceremony of Zuru Uhola 2019 annual festival. He lamented the amount of cash crops such as mango, guava, cashew, tomatoes, pepper, and others that rot away or given-away at reduced prices during peak periods due to lack of processing facilities.

Firm threatens Nigerian Breweries with legal action over alleged intellectual property use

An Enugu-based engineering firm, Evanpower Engineering Limited, has accused Nigerian Breweries Plc (“NB Plc”) with reneging on payment of services rendered at its Ama, Enugu Brewery and for use of its intellectual property without compensation. The firm has threatened to go to court if NB fails to pay for the services rendered.

Nigerian Breweries’ brands take home Gold Quality Awards at the 58th Monde Selection Awards

Three brands from the stable of Nigerian Breweries Plc were awarded Gold prizes recently by the prestigious Monde Selection Awards.

The 58th edition of the award ceremony which took place on June 3rd in Rome, Italy were conferred on Gulder, Goldberg and Star Lager respectively. This year, more than 1,000 companies from 90 countries presented no less than 3,000 products to Monde Selection juries. Each product was evaluated individually to establish its global quality profile and grant the product the quality award it deserves.
