Food & Beverage Exhibition set for June 18th – 20th in Lagos

More than 150 exhibitors are expected to take part in the Food and Beverage West Africa (FAB) show, which opens its doors from June 18 to 20 at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island.

Stakeholders canvass more investment in dairy production

Stakeholders in the dairy sector have called for increased investment in dairy production to close the gap between production, preservation and distribution.

The call came from the Technical Adviser (Youth and Gender), Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), Mosunmola Umoru, who spoke at a stakeholders’ workshop in Ikeja, Lagos organised by Tetra Pak West Africa, a firm specialising in developing packages to protect the nutritional value and taste of the products.

Nigerian Breweries plans to raise prices on beer as impact of excise duty hits earnings

Nigerian Breweries Plc said it plans to raise prices on its products to boost revenue and profit as the impact of the new excise duty rate increase hit earnings.

While speaking at the company’s Pre-Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, the Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Jordi Borrut Bel, said that with the second wave of excise duty rate increase set to come into effect in June 2019, the company needs to increase prices to offset inflationary pressure and the impact the excise duty rate increase would have on the bottom line.
