TransCorp to divest from fruit juice concentrate maker, Teragro

Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (“TransCorp”) announced on Wednesday it will seek to divest its interest in fruit juice concentrate maker, Teragro Commodities Limited.

In a press release, TransCorp said a careful review of the long term proposition of its play in the juice concentrate market revealed a number of issues. As a result of this, the Board decided to exit its investment in Teragro Commodities Limited and is currently working together with the Benue State Government, a key stakeholder, towards identifying suitable partners to drive the value proposition of the business going forward.

Transcorp’s Teragro partners Coca-Cola on new Five Alive Orange Juice

Nigerian Bottling Company, bottlers of the famed Coca-Cola brand in Nigeria have just introduced a new line of fruit juice made from concentrate, Five Alive Pulpy Orange.

The company also said that it has partnered with Teragro, the agricultural arm of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) as the sole local concentrate sourcing partner.

Teragro Commodities Limited produces orange, mango and pineapple concentrates for industrial markets. It first began producing concentrates for Coca-Cola in 2014.

Teragro Commodities Limited, the agricultural arm of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria, has entered into partnership with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, to be its sole local concentrate supplier in Nigeria.

Teragro processes orange, mango and pineapple concentrates for industrial markets at a processing plant in Benue State.
