CWAY branches out into alcoholic beverage line with Cheers Cocktail

CWAY Foods and Beverages Nigeria Limited, a company best known for its wide array of fruit-flavoured milk drinks such as Nutri-Milk and the recently launched Nutri-Yo, a drinking yoghurt, as well as drinking water and dispensers has recently branched out into the alcoholic Ready-to-drink (RTDs) or mixed spirit drinks segment with the launch of “Cheers Cocktail.”

The company said their target markets are adults as they wind down after work or on a night out with friends in party and events.

Nigerian Breweries unveils Ace Desire RTD

Nigerian Breweries Plc, on Thursday unveiled its newest creation – Ace Desire, a Zobo-flavoured alcoholic ready-to-drink (RTD) to the Nigerian market.

The company’s Marketing Director, Franco Maria Maggi, said that “Ace Desire” is a sophisticated blend of spirit, natural Hibiscus or Zobo extract, being the traditional beverage produced from hibiscus leaves.

The Ready-to-Drink (RTDs) segment of the alcoholic beverage industry is experiencing unprecedented growth, more so than beer, that the big brewers in the country have all staked their claim. The segment is awash with many players, both domestic and foreign as they vie for market share.

A trip to any of the big supermarkets or open markets, where drinks are sold reveals how much this segment is thriving.

Herbal drinks, the next big thing

The market for herbal drinks or bitters as they are often called is heating up in the Nigerian beverage market.

With sluggish sales in premium and mainstream beer brands for the two large brewery companies, Nigerian Breweries Plc and Guinness Nigeria Plc, one bright spot has been the emergence and growth of the herbal drinks segment.
