Outstanding journalists get rewarded at Nigerian Breweries 10th Golden Pen Awards

Outstanding journalism and media excellence were rewarded and celebrated last weekend at the Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Awards held in Lagos

The award, which is in its 10th year, is geared towards promoting professionalism and objective reportage of events in Nigeria. It is also meant to reward journalists who abide by the fine ethics of their profession.

Nigerian Breweries 10th Golden Pen Award set for Friday, 28th

Nigerian Breweries Plc, said that all plans have been concluded to hold the 10th edition of its Golden Pen Awards on Friday, 28th September, 2018.

According to the brewing company, the award which rewards creativity and excellence in the media profession will be held at the Civic Centre, Lagos and would be more rewarding than previous editions being that it is the 10th anniversary.

Speaking further on the programme, Nigerian Breweries’ Corporate Affairs Adviser, Kufe Ekanem, said that he was happy that the programme had impacted immensely on the Nigerian media in the discharge of their role towards nation building.

Entries for 10th Edition of Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Awards opens

Entries for the 10th edition of Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Awards got underway on Wednesday, 13 June 2018 as the company began accepting applications from participants.

According to the company, entries for the awards will end on Friday 13 July 2018.

Nigerian Breweries holds its 9th Annual Golden Pen Awards

Nigerian Breweries Plc, on Friday – 6th of October, 2018, celebrated outstanding journalism practice at the Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Awards which took place in Lagos.

The award, which is the 9th in the series, is aimed at promoting professionalism and objective reportage of events in the country. It is also meant to reward journalists who abide by the ethics of the journalism profession in their professional practice.

The night of glitz and glamour saw Isioma Madike of New Telegraph Newspaper emerging as the NB Golden Pen Reporter of the Year. The first runner-up was Arukaino Umukoro of Punch Newspapers while Caleb Ojewale of BusinessDay clinched the second runner-up position.

NB to announce winners of Golden Pen Award on Oct. 6

Nigerian Breweries Plc has concluded plans to hold the ninth edition of its Golden Pen Awards aimed at rewarding media excellence, on October 6, 2017, at the Zinnia Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The company announced that over 250 entries were received when submission closed for this year’s award which focuses on published reports on Agriculture, Local Sourcing and Industrial Development in 2016. At the ceremony, journalists who distinguished themselves in those subject areas will be rewarded in three categories.

The search for the best journalist in Nigeria came to a glorious end on Friday, 28th October at an elaborate event at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos as Tobi Aworinde, a Punch reporter won the coveted prize as the 2016 Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Awards Reporter of the Year.
