Nigerian Breweries unveils newly built block of classrooms in Uyo

Nigerian Breweries Plc has commissioned a newly built block of classrooms, library and toilet facilities at the Special Education Center for Exceptional Children in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in honour of Imoh Eno-Essien, the 2016 Maltina Teacher of the Year.

The construction of the facilities in the school where Mr. Essien teaches was part of the prize for emerging as the 2016 Maltina Teacher of the Year. Essien, who beat nine other finalists to the coveted prize last year, also received one million Naira cash prize, an oversea training, plus another one million Naira to be paid to him annually for five years.

In its quest to reward teachers for their priceless effort in nation building, leading brewery company, Nigerian Breweries Plc, has flagged-off the 2017 Maltina Teacher of the Year competition.

At the event, attended by key education stakeholders across the country, the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Nicolaas Vervelde, represented by the Corporate Affairs Adviser, Mr Kufre Ekanem, said that applications for the 2017 Maltina Teacher of the Year opened on Tuesday May 9, 2017.

Nigerian Breweries donates library to Lagos School

Nigerian Breweries Plc (NB) has donated a fully built and furnished school library to Randle Avenue Primary School, in Surulere Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The brewer partnered with the Rotary Club of Lagos in fully equipping the library and sanitary facility at the school.

Akwa Ibom Special Ed Teacher wins 2016 Maltina Teacher of the Year Award

A new Maltina Teacher of the Year winner has emerged in Mr. Imoh Essien, a Special Education teacher from the Special Education Center for Exceptional Children in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The event which took place on Thursday in Lagos saw Mr. Essien beat other contestants from each state to win the coveted prize.

There is a high level of excitement and anticipation among teachers in the nation’s secondary schools and other education stakeholders as the October 20 date to reveal the 2016 winner of the Maltina Teacher of the Year draws near. In fact, Nigerians are anxiously awaiting the results of the work of the panel of judges who will choose the best teacher in Nigeria for 2016.

Entries deadline extended for 2016 Edition of Maltina Teacher of the Year Award

Nigerian Breweries Plc said that it was extending the deadline for submission of entries for the 2016 Edition of Maltina Teacher of the Year Awards to Friday, July 22, 2016. The company said they had received many appeals from secondary school teachers across the country for more time to send in their entries.

The Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Kufre Ekanem, who disclosed this in Lagos, said entries have been received from teachers in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Nigerian Breweries Plc flagged-off the 2016 Edition of Maltina Teacher-of-the-Year Awards in Lagos on Wednesday, April 26th 2016.

The Award is meant to recognize and celebrate exceptional teachers in ALL Secondary schools in Nigeria.

Nigerian Breweries invests N3bn in Awo-Omamma, N18bn in Aba Breweries

The Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Nicolaas Vervelde, disclosed that the company has invested N3bn in the upgrading of facilities at its Awo-Omamma Brewery, less than a year after it merged with Consolidated Breweries.

Mr. Vervelde disclosed this at the commissioning of a block of six classrooms and a library built and donated by Nigerian Breweries Plc to Ubachima Primary School, Awo-Omamma, Imo State.

He added that work with upgrading of Awo-Omamma Brewery has gone from a one unit production line facility, to multiple line facility, where the company now produces seven different products.
