A new teacher has been crowned the 2019 Maltina Teacher of the Year. Ezem Collins, a teacher at the Royal Family Academy, Abuja beat all contestants to win the covetous crown. Collins, a Civic Education and Christian Religious Studies teacher was declared the winner of the prestigious honour at the grand finale held on Friday, October 18, 2019, at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Nigerian Breweries Plc has said it is committed to using the Felix Ohiwerei Educational Trust Fund to develop and raise the standard of education across the country.

The commitment was made when its Managing Director/CEO, Jordi Borrut Bel, spoke at the inauguration of a block of classrooms, library and conveniences to Government Day Secondary School, Karu, Abuja in honour of the 2018 Maltina Teachers of the Year winner.

Nigerian Breweries Plc has restated its commitment to making an impact in education, agriculture, health and the environment in the communities in which it operates as well as across the country.

This was made known by the company’s Corporate Affairs Director, Sade Morgan, during a media briefing at the weekend. She added that Nigerian Breweries is a socially responsible corporate organisation with a good track record of corporate social initiatives.

Morgan said that the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) since its founding in 1946 is driven by a vision to always “Winning with Nigeria” and that over the years, NB Plc has been very active in supporting national development aspirations in line with that vision.

Abuja Teacher Wins 2018 Edition of Maltina Teacher of the Year Awards

The quest for the best teacher in secondary schools in Nigeria in 2018 came to a glorious end on Thursday, when Olasunkanmi Samuel Opeifa, a teacher from Government Day Secondary School, Karu, Abuja emerged as the 2018 Maltina Teacher of the Year.

For the feat, Opeifa was rewarded with One Million Naira in addition to Five Hundred Thousand Naira he received as state champion from Abuja. He will also get One Million Naira every year for the next five years and a block of six classrooms built at his school.

Grand finale for Maltina Teacher of the Year set for October 11

The grand finale of the 2018 Maltina Teacher of the Year will hold on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Muson Centre, Marina-Lagos, with high-profile guests expected to be in attendance.

The grand finale will see the unveiling of the 2018 Maltina Teacher of the Year. The teacher will be presented with N1 million, a trophy and another N1 million every year for the next five years, while a block of classrooms would be built at the school where he or she teaches.

Nigerian Breweries Plc has donated a six-classroom block, library and conveniences to Mastercare International School, Asaba, through its Felix Ohiwerei Educational Trust Fund, in honour of the 2017 Maltina Teacher of the Year, Mr. Felix Ariguzo, who teaches at the school.

The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has commended Nigerian Breweries Plc for its contribution to the education sector in Kano State, saying the brewing giant has made his job easier.

The Governor was speaking while receiving a block of eight classrooms, furniture, library and books at the Government Technical College, Gwale, donated by the brewing company.

Also speaking at the event, the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, in a goodwill message, said Nigerian Breweries has added value to Kano people through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform, adding “Maltina is no doubt our pride in CSR and other corporate bodies in Kano State should follow suit.”

Maltina Teacher of the Year 2018 extends entries deadline

Nigerian Breweries Plc, the organizer of the annual Maltina Teacher of the Year Award has extended its deadline for entries from Monday 2nd July 2018 to Friday 20th July 2018.

According to the Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr Kufre Ekanem, the extension was due to pressure from teachers across the country who wanted more time to participate in the award process.

Delta State Teacher wins 2017 Edition of Maltina Teacher of the Year Awards

A teacher with Mastercare International School Asaba, Delta State, Mr. Felix Udochukwu Ariguzo, has emerged the 2017 winner of Maltina Teacher of the Year Award held in Lagos on Thursday.

For beating out other contestants, Ariguzo was awarded ₦1 Million as well as ₦500,000 he received as Delta State Champion. In addition, he will receive ₦1 million every year for five years, a training programme abroad and a block of six classrooms built in his school.
