Interbrand’s Top global beverage brands for 2016

Interbrand, the world’s biggest and most influential brand consultancy has released its 2016 Top Best 100 brands report. The list is a mixed bag of brands from a diverse set of industries with Apple and Google topping the list.

There were 11 global beverage brands in the top 100, starting with Coca-Cola, 3; Pepsi Cola, 23; Budweiser, 30; Nescafe, 36; Jack Daniel’s, 85; Sprite, 86; Heineken, 87; Corona Extra, 93; Johnnie Walker, 95; Smirnoff, 96; Moet & Chandon Champagne, 97.

LVMH Wine & Spirits group records 7% revenue growth

French luxury goods maker, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton said its revenue in the first-half of the year grew 3% from last year to €17.2bn, while the group’s net profits totaled €1.7bn, an increase of 8% on the previous year.

The company which makes high-end perfumes, cosmetics, fashion and jewellery, among others said that its wine and spirits brands had an “excellent performance” with Hennessy Cognac recording double digit growth. The brand saw a 13% volume increase in the first-half, helped by “substantial momentum” in the US, the Caribbean, Africa and Travel Retail channels.

Fake wine producer found guilty and fined

Fake wine producer, Julian Madu, who earlier in the week, was arraigned and pleaded guilty before a Federal High Court in Lagos, for sale and distribution of unregistered Moet and Chandon champagne has been ordered to pay the sum of N55,000.

Madu, owner of MADAK Enterprises operated a counterfeit business at 8, Offin Road, Oke-Arin, Lagos, where he bottled unregistered wines that were then sold to unsuspecting customers as Moet and Chandon.

Moët & Chandon introduces Moët Ice Impérial brand to the Nigerian market

Moët & Chandon will be introducing a new champagne called Moët Ice Impérial into the Nigerian market. Moët Ice Impérial is the world’s first-ever champagne specifically created to be enjoyed on ice in warm climates.

In July 2015, Moët & Chandon announced the official launch of Moët Ice Impérial to corporate partners through a small private event.

As a luxury brand, Moët is not sparing any expense. The company has announced that they will be introducing the Champagne brand into the Nigerian market by hosting an all-white exclusive party at the newly renovated Radisson Blu on the 10th October 2015.
