A new study by researchers at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, examined the effects of alcohol on the heart.

The first study, published in the Journal of Internal Medicine, looked at how alcohol affects the risk of heart failure.

Moderate consumption of alcohol could reduce the risk of death for people in the early stages of dementia, according to a new study in the British Medical Journal (BMJ).

The study showed that drinking two or three units of alcohol a day was associated with a 77 percent decrease of death from dementia, when compared to patients who drank one or less units per day.
