Trader arrested for producing adulterated alcohol brands

The Lagos State Police Command announced the arrest of a trader, Emmanuel Nwodo, for allegedly distributing adulterated alcoholic beverages in the Iju area of the state.

Nwodo, who is 38, was reportedly apprehended with chemicals suspected to be ethanol and other materials used in the production of fake drinks.

Police raid illegal brewery in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday raided an illegal brewery in the Egbe-Afa, Igbobo area of Ikorodu, where counterfeit malt drinks and stout are produced.

A team of investigators from the Lagos State Police Command led by the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal arrested five suspects.

Police nab producer of adulterated wines and spirits in Lagos; shuts factory

The Lagos State Police Command have arrested the producer of adulterated spirits and wines of various brands at Ajuwon Market, Mushin, Lagos.

A 55-year old man, Benjamin Ojukwu confessed to being the owner of the factory where the adulterated alcoholic drinks are packaged and sold to the public at market price since 2005.

Two die as policemen shoot at protesting Chi Limited workers

Two casual workers at Chi Limited, makers of fruit and dairy-based juices and yoghurt died when policemen who were called to the scene of protesting workers at the company’s factory in Ajao Estate, Lagos opened fire on them.

The deceased, a 19-year old Daniel Osikoya, and another worker, whose name is not yet known, died from wounds sustained from being shot in the thigh and leg.
