Wine and spirits producers launch campaign against underage and irresponsible drinking

Wines and spirits producers under the umbrella body, Distillers and Blenders Association of Nigeria (DBAN) have announced the launch of a six months campaign against underage and irresponsible drinking across the country.

The Chairman of the association, Chief Patrick Anegbe, announced the initiative on Thursday while addressing the media and other stakeholders.

He noted that underage and irresponsible drinking were serious social problems that needed to be addressed even it affects the bottom line of the association members.

MAN appoints Anegbe as Food Sectoral Group Chairman

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria’s (MAN) Food Sectoral Group has appointed Chief Patrick Anegbe as its new chairman.

According to a statement released by MAN, Anegbe now holds the new office alongside his position as the President, Association of Food, Beverages and Tobacco Employers (AFBTE) as well as the Chairman, Blenders and Distillers Association of Nigeria (DIBAN), a sub-sectoral group of MAN.

Companies operating in the food and beverage sector, under the aegis of the Association of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Employers (AFBTE) have called on the Federal Government to pass laws that will encourage manufacturing in the country.

The call was made by Mr Patrick Anegbe, the President of AFBTE, who also serves as the Managing Director of Intercontinental Distillers Limited, at the Association’s Annual General Meeting held in Lagos over the weekend.
