FG earmarks N20bn for Export Expansion Grant backlog

The Federal Government has appropriated N20bn as tax credit to pay part of the N300bn outstanding claims of the Export Expansion Grant (EEG) scheme.

The effort is part of the government’s plan to discourage imports and promote exports by making available incentives to manufacturers to export.

FG to reinstate Export Expansion Grant – Enelamah

The Federal Government said on Sunday it would reinstate the Export Expansion Grant (EEG) scheme it suspended in 2014 in the 2017 budget.

The purpose for the reinstatement is to increase the volume and value of Nigeria’s exports, diversify export products and improve global competitiveness of Nigerian made goods.

Beta Glass seeks reinstatement of Export Expansion Grant

Beta Glass Plc, the glass bottle and container maker for the beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries is seeking to reinstate the Export Expansion Grant (EEG) by the Federal Government, to enable it export its products and earn much needed foreign exchange.

At the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), which held in Lagos recently, Beta Glass declared a net income of N2bn for the 2015 financial-year despite foreign exchange challenges and economic headwinds.
