Danish firm FOSS Analytical partners Nigerian firm PAGI to boost food production and safety

FOSS Analytical Business, a leading manufacturer of innovative high-end analytical instruments from Denmark has partnered Prime Atlantic Global Instruments Ltd (PAGI), an indigenous firm to boost production, food safety and chemical analysis.

The launch of the partnership between FOSS Analytical Business and PAGI took place in Lagos on Monday.

Speaking at the launch, Mr Michael Moller, the Area Sales Manager of FOSS, said that the decision to partner with Prime Atlantic Global Instruments Ltd. (PAGI), a Nigerian company, was because of professionalism.

Kaduna State, Danish Government mull partnership on dairy development

President Muhammadu Buhari said on Monday that the dairy farming scheme being proposed by the Kingdom of Denmark and the Kaduna State Government would go a long way in reducing clashes between herdsmen and farmers which has left scores of people dead.

Buhari’s statement came while he received the outgoing Ambassador of Denmark, Mr Torben Gettermann at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Denmark commits to helping Nigeria boost local milk production

Denmark’s Minister Counsellor in Nigeria, Jacob Erikstrup, on Wednesday said his government and some Danish companies are committed to helping Nigeria bridge the gap in local milk production.

While speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, the minister said that despite the large importation of milk produce from Denmark to Nigeria, there was a need to increase local milk production.

Carlsberg sells stake in Malawi brewery

Danish brewer, Carlsberg A/S, the fourth largest beer company in the world, behind Heineken, said on Wednesday it had sold its 59% stake in Carlsberg Malawi Brewery Limited (CMBL) to french beverage company, Castel Group.

The terms of the sale were not disclosed except that Carlsberg has signed a license agreement with Castel allowing it to continue to produce Carlsberg Lager in Malawi. Carlsberg Malawi Brewery Limited (CMBL) is one of the oldest breweries in Malawi and opened in 1968. It is also the first Carlsberg brewery outside Denmark.

Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has begun substantive talks with Arla Foods, one of the world’s largest dairy companies and a major player in the Nigerian dairy sector on the development of the Nigerian dairy sector.

A high-powered delegation from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, on Wednesday held talks in Denmark with Arla Foods.
