Coca-Cola SABCO opens new plant in Mozambique

Coca-Cola SABCO, one of the partners of the newly formed Coca Cola Beverages Africa has unveiled a new $130m bottling plant in Matola Gare, Mozambique.

Speaking at the official event to unveil the new facility, Coca-Cola Chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent noted that Coke has been investing in Africa for almost 90 years and is present in every African country with more than 70,000 employees and 145 bottling plants.

South African regulator gives conditional approval to SABMiller, Coca-Cola deal

South Africa’s Competition Tribunal, said on Tuesday it has given its nod to the merger of SABMiller’s South African soft drinks business with Coca-Cola’s South African operation and that of Coca-Cola SABCO to create what would be known as Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, the continents biggest coke bottler with 40% of all Coke’s volumes sold in Africa.

Coca-Cola likely to accept AB InBev as new African bottling partner, says Analyst

The Coca-Cola Company (Parent Co) is likely to agree to Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) becoming its new African bottling partner after the takeover of SABMiller, an analyst has said.

AB InBev is on course to becoming the new owner of the Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), a merger of Coca-Cola bottling operations in Southern and Eastern Africa with SABMiller’s soft drinks business and Coca-Cola SABCO, which is wholly owned by the Gutsche Family Investments (GFI).

South African Competition Commission gives conditional blessing to formation of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa

The formation of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is one step closer to becoming a reality as South Africa’s Competition Commission has given their conditional approval to the merger.

The transaction, which was announced in November 2014, will involve the coming together of SABMiller’s Soft drinks operations in Africa, Coca-Cola SABCO, which is 80 percent owned by Gutsche Family Investments (GFI) and the Coca-Cola Company.
