Coca-Cola introduces first Energy drink under its brand name

Coca-Cola Energy drink is set to make its debut in the UK in April as the soft drinks giant tries to appeal to younger demographics and diversify away from its namesake soda.

The Energy drink being rolled out will have two variants – with and without sugar.

Jon Woods, general manager of Coca-Cola Great Britain and Ireland, says: “Our strategy is to offer people a wide range of drinks to meet different lifestyles and occasions and Coca-Cola Energy is the latest example of that.

Coca-Cola has announced new collection and recycling plans for PET plastic in Southern, East and Central Africa for the next three years.

The company, in partnership with its bottling and industry partners in the region, will invest around US$38m to boost recycling industries and educate consumers about recycling.

Coca-Cola revitalizes football with premier league partnership

Coca-Cola, at the weekend formally unveiled a new and exciting partnership with the English Premier League, the world’s number one football league.

Under the three-and-half-year deal, Coca-Cola joins the likes of EA Sports, Barclays, Cadbury, Carling, Nike and TagHeuer as the seventh official partner of the EPL.

Coca-Cola full year revenue fall on refranchising costs, currency headwinds

Beverage giant Coca-Cola on Thursday announced its results for full year 2018. The company reported a 10% decline in revenue to $31.9bn, down from $35.4bn in 2017, with sales falling 6% in the fourth quarter to $7.1bn. The company blamed the decline on costs associated with bottler refranchising of company owned operations and currency headwinds.

Coca-Cola to launch Orange Vanilla Coke flavour in the US

The Coca-Cola Company has announced it will launch its first new trademark Coca-Cola flavour in the US in more than a decade.

The beverage giant said that the new trademark Orange Vanilla Coke and Orange Vanilla Coke Zero Sugar will be available as of 25 February.

Speaking on the launch, Coca-Cola Brand Director, Kate Carpenter, said “We wanted to bring back positive memories of carefree summer days.

Coca-Cola takes 100% ownership of CHI Limited

Coca-Cola has taken full ownership of CHI Limited.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the soft drinks giant said that it has acquired the remaining 60% stake in CHI it does not already own.

Coca-Cola, NBC shine at 2018 SERAS Awards

Coca-Cola Nigeria Ltd and its sister company, the Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd (NBC) have emerged winners at the 12th Annual Sustainability, Enterprise Responsibility (SERAS) Awards. Coca-Cola won the best company in the Good Health and Well-being Category.

Coca-Cola Chairman Muhtah Kent to step down in April 2019

Muhtar Kent, the long-serving former CEO and current Chairman of the Coca-Cola Company will step down from his role in April 2019 after 41 years of illustrious service to the company.

James Quincey, the current president & CEO will add chairman to his job title while giving up the title of president following the company’s annual meeting in April 2019. Brian Smith, who was previously announced, will become the President & Chief Operating Officer of the company on 1st January 2019.

Coca-Cola in Kenya looking to sell 10 year old facility

Coca-Cola based in Nairobi, Kenya is seeking a buyer or renter for its Nairobi Upperhill facility at a cost of Sh1.03 billion Kenyan shillings.

The four acres facility which was built in 2008 for Sh700 million ($10 million) acts as Coca-Cola headquarters in East and Central Africa which oversees operations in 14 African countries.

Coke to launch Energy drinks under its name

The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) announced on Thursday it plans to launch its own Energy drinks under its trademark name.

In an e-mail statement, the soft drinks giant said the new drinks would be called “Coca-Cola Energy” and “Coca-Cola Energy No Sugar.” The company has not said when the drinks would become available in the market.

The announcement signals yet another move by the soft drinks maker to diversify away from its mainstay sugary drinks.
