Brown-Forman sustains momentum as nine months sales rise 9%

Brown-Forman Corp, the US-based spirits firm behind such brands as Jack Daniel’s whiskey, Woodford Reserve and Old Forester bourbon reported its nine months results through 31 January 2018 on Wednesday, with the Louisville, Kentucky based firm posting a 9% revenue growth to $2.5bn. In the third quarter alone, sales rose 9% to $878m.

Emerging markets growth lifts Brown-Forman’s Q1 results

American spirit firm Brown-Forman Corp reported a 9% sales growth for the first quarter ended 31 July 2017. Revenue rose to $723m from $661m in the previous year.

The company credits its success to continued improvement in emerging markets, driven by improving consumer demand in a more stable exchange rate environment. The company’s two largest emerging markets, Mexico and Poland reported double-digit gains of 27%, fueled by strong growth of its Jack Daniel’s family of brands.

Brown-Forman ends year with lower sales

American spirits firm Brown-Forman Corp on Wednesday reported its full-year results for the year ending 30 April 2017. The company said that full-year revenue declined 3% to $3.9bn, from $4bn a year earlier, with the spirits maker experiencing a sharp decline of 5% in the fourth quarter compared to 4% in the third quarter.

FX headwinds continue to be a drag on Brown-Forman’s earnings in Q3

American spirits maker Brown-Forman Corp, on Tuesday reported a 4% drop in third quarter net income to $182m, continuing a downward trend that has been going on since the first quarter.

The maker of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey said that its profit was dragged down by lost revenue from the sale of two brands – Southern Comfort and Tuaca in January 2016. The company also cites unfavourable foreign exchange translations in emerging markets as a reason for the poor earnings. The company makes 60% of its revenue from overseas markets.
