Nigerian Breweries promises improved returns despite challenging operating environment

Nigerian Breweries Plc has assured stakeholders of a positive return on investment in 2019 despite a challenging operating environment for manufacturers.

The brewing giant made this known on Tuesday while briefing the media at its Pre-Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Lagos.

The company said that the challenging operating environment continued into the first quarter of 2019, similar to what was seen in 2018, but feels strong with its clear strategy to deliver good returns to all of its stakeholders.

Water is an essential part of life, a basic need in every home. As important as water is to life, access to safe drinking water remains a challenge across the world, including Nigeria. The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) conducted by the government of Nigeria in 2016/2017, estimated that in the rural areas, 19 million people walk long distances to collect unsafe water from lakes, streams and rivers. SONA Group Opens Water treatment Plant

The Sona Group of Industries has inaugurated effluent treatment plants in Sango -Ota, Ogun State. The treatment plants were inaugurated in four of subsidiary units of Sona Group, namely: Euro Global Foods and Distilleries Limited, Sona Agro Allied Foods Limited, Food, Agro and Allied Industries Limited and Shongai Packaging Industries Limited were also inaugurated.

The treatment plants are expected to treat the wastewater produced by the industries, which are undesirable by- products before release into the environment.

Former Premier Leaguer and a player with a huge fan base in Nigeria, Rio Ferdinand visited the country over the weekend at the invite of Guinness Nigeria Plc. The trip was part of the brewing company’s line up of events for the football star to help boost its Guinness Made of More campaign that is ongoing around the country.
