Nigerian Breweries bolsters safety around facilities to protect staff against Corona Virus

Nigerian Breweries Plc has stressed the importance of safety and security of its staff. The brewing company made this claim when its Corporate Affairs Adviser, Sade Morgan spoke to newsmen over the weekend.

“At Nigerian Breweries Plc, safety is a key priority for us at this point in time. Since the outbreak, we took proactive measures to ensure that our employees are protected during this difficult period.

“Personal safety and security of our staff are of utmost priority to us. We have in place a work safety programme for those on essential services,” she said.

EABL to increase stake in Tanzania’s Serengeti Breweries

Kenya-based East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has announced plans to increase its ownership in Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) based in Tanzania to 85% from 55%.

In a statement, the company said “EABL intends to enter into a conditional transaction to purchase an additional 30% shareholding in Serengeti Breweries. Completion of the transaction is subject to various regulatory approvals in Kenya and Tanzania.”

Nigerian Breweries unveils Series 7 and 8 of Commercial Paper Programme

Nigerian Breweries Plc announced on Thursday the continuation of its Commercial Paper Programme with the launch of N48bn Series 7 and 8 of the programme which is set to open on the 6th of April, 2020.

In a statement, the company said that while Series 7 would be for a tenor of 182 days, Series 8 would be for 270 days, and the aim is to raise up to N48 billion to support the Company’s short terms funding needs.

Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the resignation of Mr Atedo Peterside from its Board of Directors.

In a statement, the brewing company said that Mr Peterside tendered his resignation to focus on the Anap foundation Covid-19, a Think Tank he formed following the outbreak of the Corona Virus pandemic in Nigeria.

Cadbury Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Mr Nigel Parsons to its Board as a Non-Executive Director.

In a statement, the company said that Mr Parsons appointment which takes effect from April 1, 2020 will fill the casual vacancy created by the resignation of Mr Gawad Abaza from the company’s Board on April 1, 2020. Mr Abaza had been on the company’s Board since 2016 and had served on a number of Board committees.
