Champion Breweries Plc has announced the appointment of Mr Georgios I. Polymenakos as its new Managing Director.

The appointment follows the resignation of Mr Patrick Ejidoh as Managing Director, who reached retirement age after 32 years of an illustrious career with Nigerian Breweries Plc.

Mr Ejidoh is credited with ushering the company into the path of growth and profitability.

According to a statement signed by the company’s chairman, Dr. Elijah Akpan,  Mr Polymenakos’ appointment is effective January 6, 2020.

The statement further said that Mr Polymenakos was until October 2019 the Managing Director of the Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC), bottlers of Coca-Cola products in Nigeria and a subsidiary of the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC).

His career in Marketing and Leadership spans over 21 years, starting as a merchandiser under the Graduate Trainee Programme of Coca-Cola Hellenic and rising progressively through the ranks to Commercial Development Manager, Country Manager, Regional General Manager and Managing Director.

Polymenakos holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales.
