The Federal Government on Tuesday said it would exempt 10 food items, including milk, table water, barley and sorghum among others from the 7.5% Value Added Tax (VAT) increase it proposed in early September.
President Muhammadu Buhari made this known on Tuesday in its 2020 Appropriation Bill presented to a joint session of the National Assembly.
The Niger State Government and the European Union (EU) met on Tuesday in Abuja to seek solutions to the farmer and herdsmen crisis in the state.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, the Governor of Niger State Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, said that the meeting addressed issues concerning livestock and the effort the state government was making towards bringing a lasting solution to the conflict between farmers and herdsmen.
