Beta Glass on track to complete $30m capacity expansion investment in Nigeria in June 2020

Beta Glass Plc, announced on Thursday that the $30 million investment to expand its furnace capacity at its plant in Agbara, Ogun State is on schedule to be completed in June 2020.

When it becomes operational next year, the new furnace will increase the plant’s annual capacity by 35,000 tons and pioneer use of the Narrow Neck Press and Blow (NNPB) Technology in West Africa, enabling Beta Glass to bring lighter weight, non-returnable glass bottles to market in Nigeria for the first time.

NBC delivers multi-million euros education and water projects to Kano State as part of CSR initiative

The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC), the sole bottler of Coca-Cola products in Nigeria and a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Limited (CCHBC) has inaugurated several education and water projects in Kano State.

According to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the firm signed with the state, the completed projects will benefit over one million people living around the area where the company has its operations.

Jigawa Sharia police impound vehicle transporting beer across state line

Hisbah, the Sharia law enforcement agency in Jigawa State said it has impounded a salon vehicle transporting 389 bottles of beer in the state.

The state’s Hisbah Commander, Ibrahim Dahiru, disclosed this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse on Wednesday.

Dahiru said the vehicle was impounded during a raid at about 10 a.m. on October 1, in Hadejia Local Government Area of the state.
