Coca-Cola HBC buys Italian mineral water and sparkling beverage firm, Lurisia

Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (HBC), which bottles Coca-Cola products in Nigeria and 27 European countries, said it has reached an agreement to acquire Italian mineral water and sparkling beverages firm, Lurisia for €88 million euros ($97 million).

According to the company, the purchase was made with the global bottling group, The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) and would allow it to add Italian premium brands to its portfolio which already includes iced teas and plant-based drinks.

Coca-Cola HBC acquired the firm from a group of Italian investors which include Italian private equity fund IDeA Taste of Italy and food retailer Eataly Distribuzione.

Coca-Cola HBC is the parent company of the Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC).
