As part of the Federal Government’s effort to promote agriculture as the basis of the economic diversification agenda, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has coordinated the drafting of five new standards on indigenous foods.
The on-going development of the Standards also promotes the application of research and technology to boost the production of foods for local consumption and export.
International Breweries Plc, the Nigerian unit of global beer company, Anheuser-Busch InBev has recently completed a number of projects, under its corporate social investment initiatives, across several communities in Osun, Ogun and Oyo states. These projects were recently delivered to the communities.
According to the company, the projects were part of the its strategic policy of impacting the communities where it operates, especially in the areas where basic amenities are either lacking or inadequate. The projects include solar-powered boreholes, an adequately equipped primary healthcare centre and a sanitary facility.
