President Muhammadu Buhari said on Monday that the dairy farming scheme being proposed by the Kingdom of Denmark and the Kaduna State Government would go a long way in reducing clashes between herdsmen and farmers which has left scores of people dead.
Buhari’s statement came while he received the outgoing Ambassador of Denmark, Mr Torben Gettermann at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Swiss Food and beverage giant Nestle SA and American Coffee chain Starbucks Corp on Tuesday announced the closing of a $7.15bn deal that grants Nestle the perpetual rights to sell Starbucks coffee products globally, outside of the company’s coffee shops.
Commenting on the deal, the CEO of Nestle SA, Mark Schneider, said: “This partnership demonstrates our growth agenda in action, giving Nestle an unparalleled position in the coffee business with full suite of innovative brands. With Starbucks, Nescafe and Nespresso, we bring together the world’s most iconic coffee brands”.
Nigerian Breweries Plc (“NB Plc”), has announced the appointment of Mr Emmanuel Oriakhi, a Nigerian as its new Marketing Director. He succeeds Mr Franco Maria Maggi whose secondment at the brewing company ended at the end of August. Maggi will take up a new assignment at the Heineken headquarters in Amsterdam.
According to a statement by (“NB”), Mr Oriakhi joined the company in 2003 as a Commercial Management Trainee and held increasingly senior roles within the Commercial Function of the company.
The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has commended Nigerian Breweries Plc for its contribution to the education sector in Kano State, saying the brewing giant has made his job easier.
The Governor was speaking while receiving a block of eight classrooms, furniture, library and books at the Government Technical College, Gwale, donated by the brewing company.
Also speaking at the event, the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, in a goodwill message, said Nigerian Breweries has added value to Kano people through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform, adding “Maltina is no doubt our pride in CSR and other corporate bodies in Kano State should follow suit.”
