Chivita’s ‘no-added sugar’ gets high marks from Nutritionist

The National Publicity Secretary of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Mr. Olusola Malomo, has commended the standards of Chivita 100% fruit juice, the flagship brand of Chi Limited, and its commitment to ‘no-added sugar’ process, describing it as a healthy substitute for raw fruits.

He made the statement while leading a discussion at a media session held in Lagos.

“100% juice is made from the flesh of fresh fruit or from whole fruit, depending on the type used. It is not permitted to add sugar, sweeteners, preservatives, flavouring or colourings to fruit juices. Chivita 100% complies with these requirements as articulated by its production and packaging process,” he said.

NGO group seeking reversal of pending excise duty rate increase on alcohol, tobacco take protest to NASS

A coalition of Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs) seeking to reverse a proposed excise duty rate increase by the Federal Government due to take effect on June 4, 2018 have called on the National Assembly to urgently intervene on the matter.

Business Renaissance Group (BRG) and Sustained Development Collective (SDC), two of the groups leading the protest at the National Assembly said that the excise duty rate increase would cripple the sector if not reviewed and reversed.
