Chi Limited, a leading juice, dairy and snacks maker in Nigeria has won the first place for adopting best workplace production practices and processes among other competing multinational companies in the country.
The award was handed out to the company at the 50th Annual General Meeting of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Lagos, recently.
The award was in recognition of the company’s continued passion for excellence and commitment to sustainable development exemplified by the company’s significant investment in manufacturing and other related infrastructural projects. The company’s investment in modern production infrastructure has been a critical enabler for competitiveness, research and development and productivity growth.
Chi Limited, an ISO 22000 certified company, with its world class and state of the art manufacturing facility deploys the most advanced processing and packaging technology available anywhere in the world. Its strict adherence to world class manufacturing standards and consistent efforts to ensure the most efficient process possible has been instrumental to the company’s success and recognition.
A MAN multi-panel selection committee comprising of regulatory bodies, both at state and federal levels, noted that Chi Limited took the first-place prize because of its world class manufacturing facilities and processes.
These facilities and processes have helped Chi Limited create a more environmental-friendly workplace by preventing cross contamination, reduction in waste trips, sorting and recycling. The availability of a gas plant is also strategic for the prevention of pollutant and usage of the exhaust to power the boiler, while the company’s greener environment policy and fire equipment are modern and up to date.
Commenting on the award, Chi Limited’s Managing Director, Mr Deepanjan Roy said, the MAN Award is a confirmation of the steps taken by Chi Limited to ensure that the company’s work place is in line with global standards for manufacturing.
