Schweppes Novida Pineapple, a product of the Coca-Cola Company was recently launched in Lagos on 15th December 2017 amid fanfare.
The brand threw an extravagant, classy black carpet party headlined by music crooner DBanj, which also had performances from Ayo Drums and very lively, classic tunes from Godwin the violinist.
The new variant of Schweppes is a fruity flavoured Non-alcoholic malt beverage. According to the brand handlers, Novida means New Life in Portuguese.
Gbolahan Sanni, Marketing Manager, Still and Flavours Beverages, Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited, said that the introduction of Novida into the Nigerian market is part of a global strategic move to meet the ever-changing consumer demands and taste preferences.
“Around the world, Coca-Cola is aware that consumer demands and tastes are constantly changing, we are active to this fact and are devoted to continuous innovation,” he said.
He further explained that the unveiling of the Schweppes Novida marks an important milestone in the history of the Coca-Cola system in Nigeria with the beverage giant company’s significant investment plans to ensure Novida taps into the potential of this segment fully. “This category is ripe for a new premium brand of a non-alcoholic malt-based drink,” he stated.
Coca-Cola Nigeria says the soft drinks segment remains unexplored as it launched a new non-alcoholic soft drink, Schweppes Novida.
Immediately after the unveiling, guests were handed bottles of Schweppes Novida both to drink at the event and little drink packs to go.
Schweppes Novida comes in 35cl PET bottle and is only available in pineapple flavour.
The brand is also said to be already available in some African markets like Kenya and Zimbabwe.
