An International Drinks Festival is set to hold in Lagos this December. At the unveiling of the pre-event last Thursday at the Federal Palace Hotel and Casinos, Victoria Island, Lagos, the event organisers, Balmoral Events Solution Company, said that the event will take place between 1st and 3rd December 2017 at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel and Casino, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The organisers added that the event will attract brand owners, retailers and holiday fun seekers to the single largest gathering of stakeholders in the drinks business ever witnessed in Nigeria.

The chief executive officer, Balmoral Events Solution Company, Ezekiel Adamu, noted that the event would give various drink professionals, summits and others opportunities to ask questions and interact with drink experts.

“The festival will also have a lot of interactive fun events to lighten up the atmosphere and introduce various brands to the general public,” he said.

The pre-event unveiling brought together members of the press from all the major media outlets, as well as the best-in-class in the entertainment industry, the beverage industry and the political class.

Guests were treated to a cocktail session on an exquisite artistic floor plan featuring a spirit bar, palm wine joint, and a local beer parlor complete with ladies on stilts, and some standing inside waist-high glass chandeliers. It was a sight to behold.

According to Euromonitor, an international market research firm, Nigeria consumed 36.68m litres of soft drinks in 2016; and its spirits market is valued at $6bn, while beer accounted for 55% of total alcohol sales made.
