Coca-Cola seeks sweetener innovations from scientific community, public

Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Company, said it wants to reach out to the scientific community to find a “naturally sourced, safe, low- or no-calorie compound that creates the taste sensation of sugar when used in beverages and foods.” The grand prize is $1 million.

The other is the “sweet story challenge” that invites people around the world to “submit written anecdotes and videos about their favorite, tried-and-true methods of naturally sweetening foods or beverages in their cultures, communities or families.” Up to five individual or team winners will vie for $100,000 in total prize money.

Nutri-Milk beverage, a brand of CWAY Foods and Beverages Nigeria Limited marked its 10th Year Anniversary recently in Lagos, as the brand unveiled a new logo.

At the event, the General Manager, CWAY Foods and Beverages Nigeria Limited, Figo Zheng, said the decade anniversary celebration was quite important for the company because it offered the management the opportunity to appreciate loyal customers who had stood with the company through thick and thin.

Guinness Nigeria stakes its future on low cost beer

Guinness Nigeria Plc, said it plans to broaden its participation in the value segment of the beer market as part of its strategy to return to profitability.

The maker of Guinness Extra Stout made this known in a rights Issue prospectus it released to shareholders in July. The company is seeking to raise N39.7bn ($109m) to enable it optimize its capital structure and reduce outstanding debt. The firm expects subscription to the rights issue and payment of debt obligation will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2017.
