Guinness Nigeria mulls exporting to South Africa, others

Guinness Nigeria Plc, said it plans to increase exports of its iconic stout brand to South Africa and other countries in order to generate needed foreign exchange as it struggles to overcome dwindling sales in its home market.

Polish billionaire may join team to bid for SABMiller’s east Europe brands

Sebastian Kulczyk, a Polish billionaire and his company, Kulczyk Investments are likely partners with a team of private equity funds, in a potential joint bid for SABMiller’s central and east European brands, Puls Biznesu daily, a Polish daily newspaper reported on Thursday.

The breweries located in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia are to be sold by AB InBev, as part of agreement reached with European Union antitrust regulators for the takeover of SABMiller.

South Africa’s Clover Industries to launch low-sugar Tropika

South Africa’s largest dairy fruit juice maker, Clover Industries said on Tuesday it would soon introduce Tropika Slender, a low-sugar and low-calorie variant of its bestselling beverage, Tropika, as it seeks to protect its market against a government sponsored sugar-tax that is to come into effect in April 2017. Clover has about 80% market share of South Africa’s dairy fruit juice sector.
