Beta Glass Plc, the glass container and metal crowns company based in Agbara and Dubai has appointed new directors to its board.
According to a statement released by the company to the Nigerian Stock Exchange:
Mr. Darren Bennett – Voci has been appointed the new Managing Director of Beta Glass Plc. Mr. Bennett comes with over 19 years experience in the container glass industry. He has operated in a wide variety of business environments, cultures and countries, both in Europe and more recently in the Middle East.
Most of his experiences were with global container glass industry leader, Owens – Illinois, where he held a variety of positions in sales and marketing at a regional level.
Mr. Bennett joined Frigoglass, the Greek parent company of Beta Glass Plc in June 2012 as Commercial Director – Glass, based in Dubai. He is multilingual and holds a Masters Degree in Advanced European Studies from College d’Europe in Warsaw.
Mr. Bennett replaces Mr. George Papachristou who resigned as Managing Director but will remain on the board as a Non-Executive Director.
Mr. Olaolu Akerele has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Beta Glass Plc.
Mr. Akerele is a legal practitioner with over three years experience in providing legal counsel to leading firms in Nigeria such as UBA, Diamond Bank, GZ Industries Limited and NBC Ltd.
Mr. Akerele was an associate lawyer at Olaniwun Ajayi LP, one of the leading law firms in Nigeria from 2010 to 2014. While at the firm, he was a member of the Banking and Finance Team which acted as advisers to private equity firms, development banks, central government departments and global blue chip corporations seeking and implementing investments, both in Nigeria and within other West African region.
Mr. Akerele is currently the General Counsel and investment Analyst at Coronation Capital Limited, Lagos. As General Counsel, he provides transaction support and manages the legal compliance needs of the firm.
Mr. Nikolaos Mamoulis has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Beta Glass Plc.
Mr. Mamoulis is the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Frigoglass, the parent company of Beta Glass. He comes with a wealth of experience in the container glass industry. Mr. Mamoulis joined Frigoglass as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in October 2013 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Frigoglass in July 2015. He has more than 25 years of experience in senior financial positions with different business sectors and a wealth of knowledge in Finance and International markets.
Prior to joining Frigoglass, Mr. Mamoulis was with Coca-Cola Hellenic for twelve years, with his last position being that of Group Financial Controller. Before that, he also held the CFO position in Lafarge Heracles Group and the Boutros Group.
Mr. Mamoulis is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and Business.
