AB InBev lists on the JSE
Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) as it makes its South African presence as part of its takeover of SABMiller.
AB InBev’s corporate headquarters will remain officially in Belgium and New York, but its new inward secondary share listing in South Africa is because of SABMiller’s large presence in the country.
Carlos Brito, CEO of AB InBev, said: “We were keen to do so as soon as possible as part of our commitment to investing in South Africa, and we appreciate the support we have received from JSE, South African Reserve Bank and local investment community to make this happen.”
South African resident investors can now trade on the company’s shares.
AB InBev’s share price jumped 0.75 points on the news of the listing.
