At the recent Advertisers’ Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) Annual Award for marketing excellence held on Saturday, 31st October 2015, Orijin bitters from the stables of Guinness Nigeria Plc took home the top prize in the ‘Brand of The Year’ category, eclipsing other top brands such as Coca-Cola, Star, Ace Roots, among others.
The award confirms Origin as the best performing brand in the last one year. Orijins’ Brand Manager, Nnamdi Ezeani, was also named the Brand Manager of the Year to a rousing applause.
Ace Roots Bitter, from the stables of Nigerian Breweries took home the Best New Brand Award, while Grand Oak’s Swagga Bitters and Smirnoff Gorana came in the second and third places respectively.
In other winnings, Guinness Made of Black won the Campaign of the Year’s Award, while Coca-Cola came in second.
While congratulating the award recipients, the President of ADVAN, David Okeme, noted that the award was ADVAN’s own contribution to building and creating capacity in the industry. “What we have done tonight is an opportunity to set standards and showcase expertise and we believe that as many people that are leaving here today are inspired, even those that did not win,” he said.
