International Breweries reports a 48% profit decline in six months

International Breweries Plc, the Ilesha based brewer acquired by SABMiller in 2012, reported a 48 percent drop in net profit in the six months ended 30th September 2015, to N705 million, from N1.36bn recorded in the same period a year ago. Pretax profit also fell by 50 percent to N1bn, from N2bn in the same period in 2014.

The company saw a slight rise of less than 1-percent in revenue to N10.1bn, from N10bn in the prior year.

Nigerian Breweries officially unveil Strongbow Apple Cider

It was all fun and excitement Thursday night at the Ikeja City Mall, as Nigerian Breweries officially unveiled its newest premium beverage brand, Strongbow apple cider, a ready-to-drink beverage made from apple cider. Strongbow is a product of the United Kingdom but is owned by Heineken NV.

Strongbow would be the first bottled in Nigeria cider drink to hit the Nigerian market. At the launch of the new drink at the car park of Ikeja City Mall, Nigeria Breweries took attendees on an experiential journey on the step-by-step process of making Strongbow.

Nigerian Breweries flags-off annual Don’t Drink and Drive campaign

As the festive period draws nearer, Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc on Thursday flagged off its annual Don’t Drink and Drive (DDD) campaign in collaboration with Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other agencies.

NB’s Managing Director Mr. Nicolaas Vervelde on Thursday at a press conference held at the company’s Iganmu Headquarters to herald activities mapped out for the campaign appealed to motorists to stay alive during the coming “Ember months” by adhering strictly to the “responsible consumption” messages of the company.
