Diageo, IARD partner to reduce harmful drinking

As part of its effort to create a positive role for alcohol in the society through partnerships and programmes, Diageo Plc, a global leader in beverage alcohol, has joined International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD) to commemorate the second year of the Beer, Wine and Spirits Producers’ Commitments to reduce harmful drinking.

The Beer, Wine and Spirits Producers’ Commitments to reduce harmful drinking is an ambitious programme of actions aimed at reducing harmful drinking over a five-year period which started in 2013 and will end in 2017. The IARD is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing the global public health issue of harmful drinking and to promoting responsible drinking.

Beverage Industry to grow by 10.8% in 2019, says leading industry packaging solutions provider

Sidel, a leading global provider of complete PET packaging lines and solutions for the beverage industry said that Nigeria is expected to grow the beverage industry at an annual growth rate of 10.8 percent in 2019.

Speaking at a customer outreach event in Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, organized by the company for its customers in Nigeria and Ghana and tagged “Value Creation Day,” Dominique Martin, Regional Commercial Director for Africa, said that Nigeria’s market is currently at 27.2bn litres, with water leading future volume increase, with a compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 11.1 percent.

Guinness Nigeria partners ActionAid to support Internally Displaced Persons

In line with its commitment to delivering impactful social investments in host communities, Guinness Nigeria has donated relief materials to ActionAid Nigeria to support the organisation’s ongoing interventions at various camps for Internally Displaced Persons, IDP.

Speaking at the donation, Corporate Relations Director, Guinness Nigeria, Mr. Sesan Sobowale said the gesture was in furtherance of the company’s resolve to improve the quality of life in Nigerian communities.
