Nampak to build glass bottle factory in Nigeria

Nampak Limited, a South African glass maker for the beverage industry has agreed with partners to build glass bottle manufacturing plants in two of Africa’s most populous countries, Nigeria and Ethiopia.

The company said that it wants to take advantage of growing demand for packaged consumer goods and bottled drinks in Nigeria and Ethiopia.

Brewers highlight health benefits of beer

In a bid to correct the growing negative perception some may have about beer, brewers within and outside the country are rallying together in a sensitizing campaign to correct the notion that beer is bad for ones health.

Beer makers are concerned that if the negative views held by some about beer  are not countered, it would have an adverse effect on the industry.

La Casera defies court order, refuses to recall sacked workers

The La Casera Company has flaunted the courts order to recall 700 workers it sacked, one week after the National Industrial court ruled that the company should call back the sacked workers.

Mike Olanrewaju, Head of Education Department, National Union of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Employees (NUFBTE) confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The company had dismissed 700 workers on September 14th based on what it described as an invasion of its premises by “hoodlums.”

Gulder launches National Consumer Promo, with offer of a new car
