Coca-Cola Nigeria launches new “Share a Coke” campaign

Coca-Cola Nigeria has unveiled the popular “Share a Coke” campaign in Nigeria.

For the first time in the country, Coca-Cola has replaced its iconic logo with popular Nigerian names on all its packaging. This includes the returnable glass bottles, cans and PET bottles. The purpose is to transform the global Coca-Cola brand into something personal for consumers, said Patricia Jemibewon, Marketing Director, Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited.

Coca-Cola, SABMiller to merge soft drink operations in Southern, Eastern Africa

Coca-Cola and SABMiller’s soft drink business agreed to merge in November 2014. This information was brought forward to January 2015.

Coca-Cola Company and SABMiller, the brewing giant have agreed to merge their soft drink businesses to broaden their beverage offerings.

The name of the new entity will be ‘Coca-Cola Beverages Africa’ and will serve 12 high-growth countries in Southern and Eastern Africa. The new company is expected to generate $2.9 billion annually.

Nigerian Breweries finalizes merger with Consolidated Breweries

Nigerian Breweries Plc announced on Wednesday that it has concluded its merger with Consolidated Breweries Plc.

A statement from the company said the merger was effective from December 31, 2014.

“This followed the receipt of approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the sanction by the Federal High Court.
