NAFDAC, NBC appeal court ruling on new Fanta-Sprite labeling requirement

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Nigerian Bottling Company (“NBC”) have appealed a Lagos High Court judgement which required that NBC put a health warning label on its Fanta and Sprite brands informing consumers that consuming the products with Vitamin C was poisonous.

The Director-General, NAFDAC, Mrs. Yetunde Oni, said that the agency had filed an appeal against the judgement and a motion to stay its execution.

“NAFDAC is a national regulatory authority and will react both scientifically and legally to the matter. Our lawyer has filed an appeal and a motion to stay execution of action of the judgment,” the DG stated.

NAFDAC to prosecute supermarkets selling imported fruit juices in 2017, says Oni

The Acting Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Mrs. Yetunde Oni, has thrown down the gauntlet, stating that the agency will begin to prosecute supermarkets and stores found selling imported fruit juices as well as importers of the said product come January 2017.

La Casera gets high marks for maintaining high manufacturing standards

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and its sister agencies on Friday gave commendations to La Casera Company, the soft drinks maker, for maintaining a high quality standard in the production of its beverages and also for being in compliance with the different regulatory agencies – National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), and Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
