Lagos to host 2nd ‘Nigeria Beer Festival’

Lagos State is set to host the second edition of the Nigeria Beer Festival, between September 25 to October 1, 2018.

The annual event is being organised in partnership with beer brewers in the country and their counterparts across the globe to create maximum excitement during the week-long fiesta. It will climax with the Independence Day Mega Concert to commemorate Nigeria’s independence.

Int’l Breweries unveils new N90bn brewery in Sagamu

International Breweries Plc, has commissioned its N90bn ($250m) state-of-the art brewery in Sagamu, Ogun State.

The brewer which is the Nigerian subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev has promised to create 600 direct and over 2000 indirect jobs along the value chain.

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, who commissioned the plant on Tuesday restated the government’s commitment to securing the business environment so that foreign direct investment (FDI) could flow into the country.

International Breweries sets August 28th for commissioning of newly built Sagamu brewery

International Breweries Plc (“IB plc”), the Nigerian unit of Anheuser-Busch InBev has announced Tuesday, August 28 as the date it will commission its newly built brewery.

The new brewery which was constructed at a cost of US$250 million will be commissioned by Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Int’l Breweries sustains sales growth in first half despite loss

International Breweries Plc, the Nigerian subsidiary of AB InBev has seen its losses widen in the first half of 2018 to N2.8bn, from N2.2bn in the first quarter.

The loss came despite a strong revenue boost of N53bn in the first half.

Golden Guinea drags Pabod Breweries to court over alleged trademark infringement

Golden Guinea Breweries, the Umuahia, Abia State-based brewer on the cusp of making a comeback to the nation’s beer market has filed a lawsuit at a Federal High Court against Pabod Breweries Limited, a subsidiary of AB InBev.

The suit seeks N10bn general damages from Pabod for alleged infringement of Golden Guinea’s trademark for the production of Eagle Stout.

IB Plc teams up with Lagos State Government to bring live viewing centres of FIFA World Cup to residents

International Breweries Plc, the Nigerian subsidiary of Belgian brewer AB InBev said it has partnered with the Lagos State Government to bring the remaining live matches of the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup to Lagosians.

The firm is sponsoring all the viewing centres set up by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode through the Lagos State Sports Commission.

Trophy Lager raises a glass for the Super Eagles in new ‘RaiseATrophy’ campaign

Trophy Lager beer, a brand of International Breweries Plc, the Nigerian unit of AB InBev, has unveiled a new campaign, #RaiseATrophy, aimed at supporting the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2018 World Cup in Russia.

As part of the campaign, the beer brand unveiled the biggest World Cup trophy monument built with Trophy cans at the National Stadium in Lagos on 14th June.

Int’l Breweries restructures its board; appoints new Chairman, Managing Director, others

International Breweries Plc (“IB Plc”), the Nigerian unit of Belgian brewer AB InBev announced on Tuesday the restructuring of its Board of Directors to reflect the merged entity of Intafact Beverages Limited, Pabod Breweries Limited and IB Plc.

The Board at its meeting of 11 June, 2018 appointed his Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe CFR, MNI as its new Chairman, replacing Mr. Sunday Omole who recently stepped down as chairman of the Board following the merger of the three companies.

Manufacturers Association unveils new responsible drinking campaign

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has increased its responsible alcohol drinking campaign with the launch of the third phase of the crusade by its Beer Sectoral Group (BSG), which is made up of leading brewing companies in Nigeria such as Nigerian Breweries Plc, Guinness Nigeria Plc and International Breweries Plc operating in 17 locations in various parts of the country.
