CHI Exotic Nectar has launched its pineapple Coconut variant in 150ml pack size.

Coca-Cola targets Q1 2019 to complete acquisition of Nigerian juice maker Chi Ltd

Atlanta-based Coca-Cola said on Wednesday it is on track to complete the acquisition of Nigeria’s largest juice maker, Chi Limited by the first quarter of 2019.

In a wide ranging interview with Reuters in Lagos, the soda giant reaffirmed its plans to acquire the remaining 60% stake in Chi Ltd it doesn’t already own as it seeks to diversify its product offerings from its core sugary drinks.

Chivita and Sugar Control Foundation partner to promote health and wellness

Chivita, a brand of CHI Limited, has partnered with the Sugar and Cholesterol Control Foundation (SACCOF) to support a campaign on health and wellness as well as increase public awareness on the nutritional benefits of 100% fruit juice.

At the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Lagos, President of SACCOF, Ademola Adesoye said the collaboration would boost research into sugar consumption and control. He said the partnership validated the commitment of Chivita to its ‘no-added sugar’ campaign.

NECA asks members to decline invitation to Public hearing on soft drinks

The Director General, Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), Mr. Olusegun Oshinowo, has asked its members to decline an invitation by the Federal House of Representatives ad-hoc Committee investigating the production and distribution of soft drinks manufactured by the Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC) and other drinks produced or marketed in Nigeria.

House panel pledges to continue soft drinks probe

Majority Leader of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has said that the National Assembly has power to carry out an investigation into a matter involving privately-run companies.

Speaking as the chairman of the House ad hoc Committee investigating the production and distribution of soft drinks manufactured by the Nigerian Bottling Company PLC (NBC), and other soft drinks sold in the country, Hon. Gbajabiamila stressed that it was equally erroneous to assume that the National Assembly would halt a probe because a party involved had taken the matter to court.
