Chi launches Hollandia Choco Malt 3-in-1 Ready-to-Drink

Chi Limited, a leading Nigerian juice and dairy maker has unveiled a new product called Hollandia Choco Malt, a ready-to-drink chocolate, milk and malt drink to the market.

The product also referred to as “3-in-1 Yo” is said to appeal to a youthful consumer segment and is an innovative blend of chocolate, milk and malt that comes in trendy pack sizes of 135ml and 315ml. It can be consumed immediately after opening and delivers instant nutrition to consumers.

According to the company, Hollandia ChocoMalt drink is rich in vitamins and minerals, takes away the hassles and inconvenience involved in preparing Choco-based beverage drink the traditional way.

Health industry accused of sabotaging efforts to reduce sugar content in sweetened beverages

Advocates of sugar-tax on sweetened beverages such as Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSDs) in Nigeria say that health organisations as well as medical and public health institutions have been enabling the rise in new cases of diabetes and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in the country by accepting billions of naira in donations from soft drink manufacturers in the form of Social Responsibility donations.

Two die as policemen shoot at protesting Chi Limited workers

Two casual workers at Chi Limited, makers of fruit and dairy-based juices and yoghurt died when policemen who were called to the scene of protesting workers at the company’s factory in Ajao Estate, Lagos opened fire on them.

The deceased, a 19-year old Daniel Osikoya, and another worker, whose name is not yet known, died from wounds sustained from being shot in the thigh and leg.

Hollandia Evaporated Milk leads Peak in new Retail Audit Report

A new Retail Audit report released by AC Nielsen Retail Audit Data for Q1 2016 shows Hollandia Evaporated Milk, a product made by Chi Limited, take the lead ahead of Peak Milk Regular in the evaporated milk segment in the Southwest and Lagos markets, customarily considered the largest dairy markets in Nigeria.

Chi Limited, a company known for its Chivita brand of fruit juices, has launched Chivita Active Vegetable & Fruit Nectar into the market as a healthier alternative.

The product is a blend of fruits and vegetables. According to the company, it contains the anti-oxidants and stamina needed for a healthy active lifestyle.

Chivita Active Vegetable & Fruit Nectar is produced without artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and comes in three variants – Carrot Orange, Beetroot Grape and Beetroot Apple, with each variant offering different health benefits.

Chi Limited reaffirms support for sports in Nigeria

Chi Limited, Nigeria’s largest juice maker and company known for its Chivita juice brands among others have come out to reaffirm its support for local sports teams in Nigeria by putting its weight behind ‘Lagos Marines’ football team at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Chi Limited, the company behind Chivita juice drinks has introduced a new handy yogurt pack called Hollandia Gogurt “Grab n’ Go” packs in what the company said is in response to commuter’s needs.

According to the company, it is a uniquely handy pack filled with Hollandia Yogurt for easy accessibility for consumers in traffic.

The idea is to give consumers a handy pack that can be consumed while on the go. Also, the product price has been set at N100, making it affordable. Moreover, the pack is designed in a dynamic shape with a fancy cap, making it trendy and attractive for the youths.

Coca-Cola buys 40% stake in Chi Ltd.

Coca-Cola Company announced on Saturday that it has acquired a 40% stake in Nigeria’s largest juice maker, Chi Limited, known for its Chivita and Hollandia juice, dairy and yoghurt drinks.

Coke bought the stake from Tropical General Investments Group (TGI Group), Chi’s parent company, the two companies said in a joint statement, though they did not disclose how much Coke paid for the stake. One industry source said Coca-Cola was paying a “triple-digit-million-dollar” amount for the stake. Other sources say Chi was valued at as much as $1bn.
