Nestle Nigeria appoints Jagdish Kumar Singla as new Finance & Control Director

Nestle Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Jagdish Kumar Singla to the position of Finance & Control Director effective 1 January 2018.

Mr. Singla will be taking over from Mr. Syed Saiful Islam, the current Finance & Control Director who is being transferred to Nestle Pakistan with effect from 1 January 2018.

Mr. Singla who has been the Country Controller of Nestle Sri Lanka since 2014 joined Nestle India in 1990 and served in various roles at the company’s Moga Factory and in Management Accounting at Nestle’s Head Office in Switzerland. He also worked as Nestle’s Factory Controller in Shuangcheng, China from 1997 and later as Business Controller for Nestle Milks and Nutrition for Greater China Region.

NBC hosts fifth energy efficiency workshop

Nigerian Bottling Company (“NBC”), the bottler of Coca-Cola products in Nigeria hosted the fifth pilot Energy Efficiency Network (EEN) workshop for industries in Nigeria.

The event took place at the company’s Ikeja, Lagos plant on 17th August 2017, and attracted industry stakeholders and participants from other companies in the network and engaging in a series of practice-driven discussions focused on energy efficiency and aimed at supporting the participating companies to identify opportunities for sustainable energy cost savings.

Nestle Nigeria mulls new investments to boost growth

Nestle Nigeria Plc, said it is weighing new investment proposals to bolster its nationwide production and distribution networks to drive growth.

The company made this known at its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which held recently in Lagos. Speaking at the event, the chairman of Nestle Nigeria Plc, Mr. David Ifezulike told shareholders that the company was considering a lot of investment proposals that should strengthen its operations.

SABMiller, Coca-Cola agree concessions with South African regulators

SABMiller and its soft drinks partners, Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola SABCO, a Southern African bottler of Coke products have given in to concessions with the South African Competition Commission, which would pave way to the formation of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, the largest Coca-Cola bottler in Africa that would control 40% of all Coke volumes sold on the continent and have annual sales of $2.9bn.

Fire guts Ranona Nigeria Ltd beverage factory in Isolo, Lagos

Fire broke out on Friday at the Isolo area Lagos factory of Ranona Nigeria Limited, makers of FreshYo yoghurt, Blue Boat Fruit Milk, among other beverage products.

The fire which allegedly started from the mixing unit of the plant had already consumed about five sections of the factory before fire fighters arrived at the scene.

Workers at the factory, which is located at Afprint Way, along the busy Oshodi/Apapa Express way, Isolo, said they ran from the premises when they noticed thick smoke gushing from a section of the factory.
